Centralia College Mobile CTE Lab Visits Our Jr/Sr High School
The Junior/Senior High is currently hosting the Centralia College Mobile Career and Technical Education (CTE) Lab, giving students a hands-on opportunity to explore careers in skilled trades and technical fields.
All of our 8th grade students, along with high school agriculture and shop classes, have had the chance to step inside the mobile lab and experience realistic, industry-based simulators.
Hands-On Learning Through Simulators
The Mobile CTE Lab features several interactive simulators that introduce students to real-world equipment and career pathways:
Forwarder Simulator
Students experience how forestry forwarders are used to safely and efficiently transport logs, introducing careers in forest management and logging operations.
Harvester Simulator
This simulator shows how modern harvesting machines cut, process, and sort trees, highlighting the technology and precision used in todayās forestry industry.

Welding Simulator
Students practice welding techniques in a virtual environment, learning proper angles, control, and safety while exploring one of the most in-demand skilled trades.

Forklift Simulator
This simulator introduces material handling and warehouse operations, emphasizing safety and coordination in logistics and manufacturing careers.

Bulldozer Simulator
Students get to simulate operating heavy equipment used in construction and land development, learning about careers in construction, infrastructure, and heavy equipment operation.

Exploring Future Career Pathways
These hands-on experiences help students connect classroom learning to real-world careers. By trying the simulators, students can explore interests, discover new career options, and begin thinking about future education and training opportunities in technical and trade fields.
Staff and Regional Student Participation
In addition to students, school staff also had the opportunity to experience the simulators firsthand, gaining a better understanding of the skills and careers being showcased.
The Centralia College Mobile CTE Lab will also be available for schools throughout the area too, including Winlock, Toledo, Onalaska, Adna, Boistfort, Pe Ell and Toutle, to bring their 8th grade students to Napavine to visit and experience the mobile lab.
Hosting the Mobile CTE Lab has been an exciting opportunity for our school, and we appreciate Centralia Collegeās partnership in supporting career exploration and student success. The goal is that every 8th grader in Lewis County will have had the opportunity to experience the mobile lab by the end of its tour this school year.
